Dive FLORIDA !
Everybody likes diving, right? And Florida has the best scuba diving to
offer. See some of the links to the Dive Shops, Dive Charters and Scuba
Instructors below.
From deep sink holes and caves in the northern and central Florida to the
beautiful coral reefs and best underwater visibility you've ever seen off the
Atlantic Southeast Coast and the Florida Keys, Florida offers it all.
And right in the middle, in the Gulf of Mexico just out of Tampa Bay, you'll
find some of the best spear fishing in the state. And, how about you wreck
divers? Dive the wrecks in warm Florida waters!
Divers: To Find the scuba information you need, proceed to the
Divers Map and check out the different
Dive Trips, charters, resort and equipment suppliers by
area. Also see the Dive Links page to look up
information on scuba equipment and dive medicine including hyperbaric treatment
for recompression chamber locations.
Scuba Shops and Dive Charters: to find out more about being listed or
linked with the
Florida Scuba Connection or designing or updating your
scuba website, see
Scuba Web Services for more information. Use the best
Florida Scuba resource available on the Internet.
Certified Divers: Don't know where to dive or who to dive with? Post your message
for the dive operators to see and respond to. See
examples here.
Dive Operators: Make sure to check the Divers'
Request page to connect with your next diver or student. Divers'
requests for services are posted allowing you to respond directly to the diver.
See the page for more details. Also see the
Florida Scuba Divers
Discussion Board.
Scuba Students: We are fascinated by life
underwater. The Professional Association of Dive Instructors’ (PADI) best guess
is that there are about 5-7 million active divers worldwide with about 526,904
new divers receiving their scuba certification each year (year 2000). Of the
different types of diving (wreck, cave, commercial, etc.,) sport diving, or
recreational diving is the most popular. With sport divers reaching depths of
130 feet or less (most diving is less than 60 feet deep), beautiful panoramas
and numerous varieties of coral reefs and fish are the common goal.
Most of the dive sites you will want to see can only be accessed from a boat,
however, there are some very nice Florida beach dives available for the dive
enthusiast willing to do a little research.
