Diving
the Florida Keys
with
Key Dives
Key Dives is at Bud N'
Mary's Marina on Islamorada in the Florida Keys, a destination for divers
from all around the world adjacent to the largest living reef in the
United States.
Scuba Divers are overwhelmed by
the massive volume and unparalleled variety of aquatic life resulting from
the nutrient rich waters of the Gulf of Mexico meeting with the warm
tropical waters of the Gulf Stream.
It's no surprise that it's
been awarded the title: America's #1 Dive Destination.

More About Key Dives |
 |
After years working as dive instructors in
Maui and in the Caribbean on the tiny remote island of Virgin Gorda,
Key
Dives owners Mike and Marcia are excited to bring to the Florida Keys a
level of service and spirit of adventure made famous in the Caribbean.
"If you come to the Florida Keys for great scuba diving, you'll
return to Key Dives for the best service - anywhere!"
|
Key Dives Service
"The Treatment" - Some have called what we do "Goochi" Diving (sorry,
we can't spell it correctly without paying for it!). What is
"The Treatment"?
 |
We carry your scuba gear to the dive boat and
set it up. |
 |
We carry your scuba gear to the stern so
you do not have to walk with the gear on your back. |
 |
During your dive, we identify any
unfamiliar marine life. |
 |
After the dive, we hoist your dive gear out of
the water so you do not have to climb out with the gear on your back. |
 |
We will break down your scuba gear and
rinse and store it for the next day of diving. |
If you hire a dive guide, all we ask of our divers is to breathe and
kick! Top |

Guided Dives At Key Dives
We actually love to dive and we absolutely despise sitting on the boat
when we could be blowing bubbles underwater. So, for as little as $70 for
a three 2-tank dive minimum, you can have a divemaster guide you to all
the cool stuff on your dive.
Do you want to know the best part? You will not have to spend the
dive watching your compass and focusing on getting back to the boat.
Just leave the navigation to us and enjoy the show!
Unguided Dives - For those that prefer to do it on their own, that is
fine. We offer the most competitive prices for you independent folk.
Regardless, you will still receive "The Treatment."
We provide all our divers with fresh fruit, cookies and bottled water.

Key Dives Dive Trips
Check out our guided dive prices - the lowest in the Florida Keys!
This is because we truly WANT to dive with
you. It's safer and much more fun for all of us! The bottom line is we'd
rather be in the water diving with you than sitting on the boat and of
course, we do not want to miss any of the cool critter action! |

Islamorada Dive Sites
We visit
more than ninety dive sites. Following is a sampling of our favorites... |
| |
Crater Reef
60 - 100 ft Great chance to see
big fish and massive green turtles, Green morays, nurse shark and the
occasional predatory shark.
Alligator Deep
45 - 90 ft Spur and groove
section of alligator reef. Another great opportunity to see the BIG fish. |
| |
The Eagle
90 - 110 ft 300' cargo ship
sunk in 1985. Over the last 20 years, quite impressive corals have taken
hold. Broken in half during Hurricane Georges, most of the ship is now
accessible and now home to a family of Goliath Groupers! A must see!
Crocker Reef
35 - 60 ft Spur and groove
formation with mounding coral heads. Great site for spotting turtles.
Hammsaurus
25 - 35 ft Unlikely you will
find hammerheads or dinosaurs for that matter, but you will see lots of
nurse shark and eels galore!
|
| |
Davis Ledge
25 ft If you love 1000s of fish
staring at you, this is a site for you.
Alligator Reef
25 ft Offers the greatest
marine diversity anywhere in the Keys. A must for fish lovers!
Fish Bowl
25 ft Fish, fish, and more
fish. You will feel like you are in an Aquarium.
|
| |
Hens & Chickens
10 - 20 ft This site offers the
best corals in the area. Great for the Snorkeler and diver alike. If you
see any hens or chickens, you definitely have a problem we can't solve!
Just to our south is a vast
area of unexplored reef. Key Dives owners Mike and Marcia are very
adventurous. So if you want to do some exploratory diving just let us
know. You may be able to name a new site and you will definitely make our
day!
